first blog post here oh wowie

 hi it's me. 

if you're here chances are you've met me or you're familiar with me, but on the off chance you haven't and you aren't, hi, I'm Dylan. I've been writing for a few years now. I've played videogames and consumed media for practically my whole life, and I remember it was during quarantine; I played a pretty special videogame I hold close to my heart called Bloodborne which alongside songs like My Iron Lung and movies like Clockwork Orange or Cat Soup opened my eyes to the artistry behind these types of media, forming my tastes for years to come and getting me interested in media analysis in the first place.

bloodborne was the first thing i ever wrote about. i basically gushed about its combat and artstyle for a few paragraphs, and then i did that for a few other videogames like dark souls, and then i started writing about movies and tv shows and even songs i liked. i used to share my essays around a lot but as ive gotten older and inevitably improved i've come to realise how kind of shit my writing can be, so for the most part i'm pretty reclusive with my essays. i can count maybe 2-3 people i know i've felt comfortable sharing my material with,  but that ends today.

for the most part I'm planning on using this blogspot to write about new things i've played or experienced which i find interesting, as well as dump pre-existing essays i've mostly let just gather dust in my file explorer or on my simplenote account. hopefully if you're someone random i'm interesting enough that you haven't immediately clicked off yet. anywho i've run out of stuff to say, i think this page should be pretty selp explanatory. happy reading weirdos
